When Pierre Poilievre first declared his war on the Charter, vowing to weaponize the illegitimate Notwithstanding Clause, he said he would only violate the Constitution to solve “criminal” issues.
Well, the next target of the Conservative Crusade against crime is here: Homeless People! During a recent campaign stop in Hamilton, Ontario, Poilievre declared that he would give police the authority to arrest homeless people….for being homeless.
Yes, you read that right. The Conservatives plan to make it a criminal offence for a homeless person to sleep inside a tent. Police will not merely destroy the basic shelters in which homeless people desperately attempt to survive the winter, they will now arrest those homeless people for the crime of living.
This is evil! This is an act of pure, unadulterated evil! It is savagery and barbarism! The Conservatives want to arrest homeless people for existing. If you and your family become homeless, and you attempt to sleep in a warm place, you will be arrested and imprisoned.
Obviously, this would violate the most basic Charter rights that Canadians hold dear. But the Notwithstanding Clause takes the Charter, takes the very concept of human rights, and smothers it in a fountain of liquid shit.
The Conservative plan includes not only arrest and imprisonment, but also forced drug withdrawal “treatment” for any homeless person “illegally” occupying a public space, regardless of whether they have ever consumed an illicit substance in their entire life.
Think about this: Merely by being homeless, you would now be subjected by the state to forced medical procedures, for a condition you do not have, in order to generate profit for the private contractors that the Conservatives hire.
Let’s be honest about exactly what would happen if this were to occur. Canadian police would enforce these illegitimate and unconstitutional laws, excusing fascism by claiming they are merely “following orders”. Supposed “progressive” politicians would fall in line, as they have before, and attack anyone who dares to criticize the new laws.
Then, one day, police will enforce this law on the wrong homeless person. That person will see the police rip up their tent, destroy the few belongings that remain to them, and as the police move to arrest them and have them forcibly committed to a medical facility under false pretence, the person will realize they have nothing left to lose, and they will defend themselves physically, and blood will be spilled.
Across the political spectrum, there will then be widespread condemnation of the homeless person, for daring to protect themselves from state violence. The police in question will be treated as heroes and martyrs, when in reality they will have been nothing but cruel and spiteful idiots who fucked around and found out.
The state does not have unlimited capacity to perform violent acts upon the people. When the state crosses the line into fascism, the natural result is forceful resistance from the oppressed.
So when it comes to the hypothetical of the Notwithstanding Clause, I have no sympathy for police officers who would willingly enforce these laws. If police wish to engage in violent thuggery against the Canadian people, those they seek to oppress will impose the natural consequences, and nothing of value will be lost.
I am no longer tolerating any excuses that people may have for voting Conservative. If you vote for the Conservative Party, you are voting to destroy the Charter. You are voting to destroy Canada. You are voting to destroy civilization.
Between the Liberals, the Bloc Québécois, the Greens, and the NDP, there are four major political parties in Canada that represent a wide range of acceptable viewpoints; Canadians are not starved for choice here.
But the Conservative Party, unlike those four, is not acceptable. The Conservative Party is the party of fascism, and terror. It is the party of hatred, and fear. It is the party of greed, and oppression. The Conservative Party is evil, and evil must be opposed.
Your political views are a reflection on your values as a person. If you vote for the Conservative Party, it is a reflection that you support these values. It is a sign that your soul is tainted by fascism, that you enjoy the pain which Pierre Poilievre promises to inflict on your fellow Canadians.
The Leader of the Conservative Party has declared war on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He seeks to use an illegitimate and unconstitutional power, the Notwithstanding Clause, to violate the natural rights of human beings, and condemn Canadians to a life of oppression.
Canadians must defend ourselves from this assault. We must expel the fascists from public life. We must cleanse our nation of the Conservative terror. Because if we do not? If we allow the fascists to win this election?
Canada will cease to exist.
Thank you for telling it like it is. Conservative voters will be outraged by your words, as they always are when anyone calls them on their sh*t.
